Lasagna, the ultimate comfort food. Yet, if you’ve ever built a lasagna, the task is not for the faint of heart or time-sensitive culinary adventurer. There’s a lot of prep work that must be done to prepare all of the individual ingredients—from noodles and sauce to cheese and spices—and then you build and bake for cheesy, layered goodness.
This week we’re highlighting two Salt Lake City businesses that are doing all the prep work for you to enjoy this delicious one-pan meal. Plus, you can also share one with a hungry family.
Harbor Seafood & Steak
As part of this east-side restaurant’s take and bake specials, pre-order Harbor’s Wagyu beef lasagna (small $16, large $32) featuring San Marzano tomato sauce, ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Pop it in the oven and enjoy! To order, visit https://www.harborslc.com/.
SLICE
SLICE is bringing their classes virtual and into every home kitchen each week with make-at-home kits that are part family activity and part dinner! This week is lasagna week with a meat and vegetarian option. “We’ve taken out all the hard work and left you with the fun. We’ve made pasta from scratch and rolled it perfectly thin, simmered some amazing sauces from scratch, and included lots of mozzarella and parmesan for you to layer up a lasagna!”
Nonna’s Traditional Lasagna Kit includes marinara and meat sauce, creamy bechamel, mozzarella, grated parmesan and sheets of handmade pasta ready to assemble and bake. Serves 4 for $22.50.
The Zucchini and Herb Lasagna Kit includes sliced zucchini, fresh herb sauce, creamy bechamel, mozzarella, grated parmesan and sheets of handmade pasta ready to assemble and bake. Serves 4 for $21.
You can also add a spring salad and lemon biscotti to complete your meal.
Best of all, anyone can Share the Love – Feed a Family. SLICE has partnered with South Salt Lake P.A.L. (Police Athletic League) and Promise South Salt Lake who will be identifying families who are suffering during this challenging time and would benefit from a hearty meal. A sponsored dinner for 4 includes: 1 traditional or veggie lasagna, 1 salad kit, and 1 take and bake biscotti for $45.
Online orders for meals and sponsorships can be placed at http://www.saltlakeculinarycenter.com/ by Tuesday at 2 p.m. for pick up on Thursday between noon and 4 p.m. Call 801-464-0113 upon arrival and your meal will be brought out to your car.
