Interested in becoming a professional chef or top culinary expert? Then check out Salt Lake Institute of Culinary Education‘s (SLICE) free open house to learn more about their 12-week certification course designed to help you hone your culinary skills and take you to the next level.
“We are excited to begin a 12-week program that is built on information gathered from executive chefs, restaurant owners and others in the culinary field,” explains Diane Sheya, Culinary Director at SLICE. “We asked them what fundamental skills were needed to work in their establishment.”
At completion of the course, students will become certified in the nationally recognized sanitation program (ServeSafe) as well as learn the skills to take the ACF test (American Culinary Federation) and Work Place Safety certification.
“There are many opportunities in the Salt Lake area for employment in the culinary arts and employers are finding it difficult to find qualified people,” Sheya continues. “Our goal is to provide our graduates with the knowledge and skills to be a desired and qualified employee whether it be in a 5-star restaurant, local pub or an outstanding home cook for family and friends.”
Attend an open house event to learn more about the culinary school certification. The open house events are free but you must RSVP.
SLICE chefs will be showcasing their tantalizing talents and answering your questions.
