It’s exciting to see so many great restaurants winning awards and receiving praise for the food and drink they provide. Here’s a rundown of those recognized recently.
Thrillist ranks best BBQ in Utah
No surprise at Thrillist‘s winner of best barbecue shop in the state of Utah. R&R BBQ wins deservingly and will soon begin franchising their smoked meat success.
2016 Wine Spectator Wine List Awards
A variety of Utah restaurants have been honored for their outstanding wine program in Wine Spectator’s 2016 Restaurant Wine List Awards. This year, 18 restaurants in Park City and Salt Lake City are recognized among other winners from all over the globe as a top destination for wine lovers. Wine Spectator began its program to recognize the world’s best wine lists in 1981.
Tupelo has been honored for the first time for its outstanding wine program in Wine Spectator’s 2016 Restaurant Wine List Awards with the Award of Excellence, which recognizes restaurants whose wine lists feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.
“We’re proud that our team’s hard work, dedication, attention to detail – and, not least, love of great wines – has earned this coveted recognition fromWine Spectator,” said Chef Matt Harris. “Huge credit goes to our wine director, Sean Marron, who chose every wine based on how it fit not just with our food, but with our approach overall: globally-inspired dishes made with artisanal ingredients and special care.”
Three Deer Valley Resort restaurants also appear on the list. Winning the award for the first time is Deer Valley’s Seafood Buffet. The extravagant spread is located in the Snow Park Lodge during the winter season and offers a vast array of fresh seafood including poke, chilled shellfish, hot seafood appetizers and entrées, roast duck, prime rib, vegetable specialties and fabulous desserts.
“To have three of our restaurants recognized this year is a huge achievement and we couldn’t be more proud of the experience we are able to offer in each establishment,” said Deer Valley Director of Food and Beverage, Jodie Rogers. “We have an incredibly dedicated staff and it is evident when receiving honors like these.”
Another new addition to the 2016 list is BTG Wine Bar in Salt Lake City.
La Caille in Sandy received an upgraded listing this year as well.
