In back-to-back events in San Francisco last week, several Utah companies won awards, launched new products and updated their look.
Salt Lake City’s Amour Spreads won a Good Food Award in the preserves category for their Black Currant Blackberry Jam. This spread is a nice balance of slightly musky black currants and beautifully ripe blackberries. “A big thank you to the fruit growers who make our jams possible and a massive thank you to all of you who buy Amour and spread love everyday,” say owners John and Casee Francis.
Ritual Chocolate, based in Park City, won Good Food Awards for their Mid Mountain Blend and Belize chocolates. Their first Good Food Award came in 2013. Shortly thereafter, Ritual officially launched their new packaging at the Winter Fancy Food Show as part of the A Priori booth. The packaging was designed by Salt Lake firm Modern 8 and reflects a sleeker, more high-end presentation to the customer. An array of colors make varieties easily identifiable.
Ogden’s Beehive Cheese sampled two new flavors of cheese—now available at Harmons and other retailers in Utah—at the Winter Fancy Food Show as well. Hatch Chile brings a tinge of heat to the palate with the famous Hatch, New Mexico chiles rubbed on Promontory. Next, Fully Loaded is fortified with High West Whiskey from Park City, Utah.
