The 2023-2024 ski season at Park City Mountain Resort and Pendry Park City has begun and there is so much in store this season. As the largest ski resort in America, Park City Mountain Resort has something for everyone—with 7,300 acres of slopes and trails for skiers of all levels, from beginners to experts—and each day on the slopes can offer an entirely new experience. Better still, Pendry Park City at Canyons Village is the perfect starting point for a ski vacation with ski in/ski out access and even a ski valet.
Après Pendry
Even if you’re not a guest at Pendry, Après Pendry is a beautiful spot to start your winter adventure with a relaxing post-ski snack. The Pendry’s primary dining area and bar is drenched in natural light during the day and beckons from the slopes with the promise of fireside lounging as you take in the slopeside views. You can also belly up to the bar or grab a table throughout the dining room.
Partake in an aptly named craft cocktail from the bar like the Black Diamond featuring rye whiskey and Amaro Averna or the Park City Cocktail Contest entry Lavender Haze with local Alpine Gin, Crème De Violette citric acid and Park City Atticus Teahouse Moroccan mint simple syrup.
Nosh on some filling appetizers like the German pretzel with beer cheese and Bavarian mustard or the hot and bubbly crab and artichoke dip with crostini. From 5-6 p.m. each day, take part in Appy Hour specials featuring $10-$15 bites and small plates.
Meals other than après include full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus are also available for hotel guests and visitors alike.
On Saturday evenings, you’ll be treated to live music from 5-8 pm.
Pendry Park City
Pendry Park City is ideally situated within the Canyons Village, affording you access to all the lively activities at the ski resort base along with a modern and relaxing home away from home in one of Pendry’s 152 rooms/suites.
As a guest, you’ll want to know there are actually three separate buildings surrounding a meandering plaza with lots of seating and fire pits that make up the hotel. Each building is connected by skybridges on the second floor so you don’t need to walk outside but to make check in as easy as possible, it’s advisable to leave your belongings in the car (if you’ve driven) until after you know which building you’ll be calling home and then plot your course from the parking garage from there. Of course, valet parking is available at the main check-in entrance off High Mountain Road and makes navigation far easier.
The friendly and informative staff at Pendry are what you would desire but in a very casual and mountain resort style. When our coffee maker didn’t work on a Sunday morning (the horror), the lovely woman taking our room service order contacted maintenance for us and within 30 minutes a new machine appeared in addition to a large carafe of hot coffee. Sunday scaries averted.
The breakfast room service menu mirrors that of the Apres Pendry menu so if you’d prefer to mix and mingle rather than lounge in your room, you’ll find the same thick-cut crisp bacon in both places and it shouldn’t be missed and a beautiful avocado toast with tangy goat cheese was the perfect way to start the day.
Our 2-bedroom, 2-bath residence had everything you could need to vacation comfortably. A full kitchen stocked with dishware and cooking supplies, high-end appliances, three TVs spread throughout the bedrooms and great room, a washer/dryer unit, thoughtful storage spaces for bulky winter outerwear, and luxurious bathroom products. And did I mention the balcony? Fresh air and sunshine just out the kitchen door!
Pool, Spa and Winter Fireworks
Need some après wellness? Book a High Altitude Glow Facial at Spa Pendry or just enjoy the rooftop pool and whirlpool on building two as you sip a cocktail from The Pool House and enjoy the fire pits radiating heat to the nearby lounge chairs.
You might also be able to catch the winter fireworks displays put on by the Canyons Village Management Association throughout the season. They ring in the holiday season on Friday, November 24, as part of the 7th annual Community Tree Lighting Ceremony. The dazzling displays begin November 24 at 4 pm with live holiday music, delicious treats and photos with Santa before fireworks start bursting at 5:50 pm. The spectacular fireworks then continue throughout the season following this schedule.
- Friday, November 24: Community Tree Lighting (5:50 p.m.)

- Saturday, December 23: Silver Sky Nights (5:30 p.m.)

Thanksgiving Weekend Festivities
If you’re in town for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, in addition to the tree lighting and fireworks, Pendry is also setting up a Sip, Shop & S’mores event from 3-6 p.m. on November 24 and 25. Warm up at the complimentary cocoa and s’mores bar. Once you belly is happy, make your heart swell with a visit to the Snuggle Lounge on Saturday, November 25 from 2-4 p.m. to snuggle with puppies available for adoption from Nuzzles & Co.
Fun Extras from Pendry Park City
If you don’t have a car or don’t want to drive, Pendry offers a free shuttle bus on the hour to get you into Park City’s Main Street.
Guests can stop by the front desk between 5-6 pm and pick up their complimentary S’mores Kit to roast at the firepits.
And don’t forget to enjoy your welcome drink offered at check in!
I was provided with a complimentary stay at The Pendry Park City. All opinions are my own.
