Solitude is the perfect place to escape the heat of the valley this summer. Mountain breezes, moose and more all await anyone willing to take the picturesque drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon. And this coming weekend, Solitude is hosting a multitude of food-centric events to satisfy.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday evening, August 5, the annual Wasatch Mountain Table Dinner will highlight Pigs N’ Pinot. Featuring meat from Niman Ranch, each dish is exquisitely prepared and served al fresco next to the majestic Wasatch Mountains. An appetizer reception, followed by a five-course dinner at the communal mountain tables set up alongside Big Cottonwood Creek make for a memorable evening with old or new friends. The next day, on Sunday, August 6, is Taste of the Wasatch—an annual event dedicated to fighting hunger in Utah. Taste of the Wasatch brings together more than 50 of Utah’s finest restaurants as they converge on Solitude Mountain Resort for an afternoon of great food, fine wine, local beers and fantastic silent auction items. There are only a few VIP tickets left and these seats get you in an hour early to the venue at 11 a.m. along with tent seating at a table. General admission tickets are also available. Patron are encourage to bring their own shade equipment and chairs to sit alongside Big Cottonwood Creek or throughout the venue.
Solitude is offering discounted stays to all Taste of the Wasatch attendees. Choose between a $99 hotel room rate at The Inn at Solitude or discounts off two- and three-bedroom condominium-style accommodations at select Solitude Resort Lodging managed properties. Either property will situate you in the charming, European-style village located at the second entrance of Solitude in Big Cottonwood Canyon. But even if you aren’t staying at Solitude, you can relax for a few more hours after the event with live music in Solitude Village from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday.
