Podere Le Ripi di Montalcino winemaker dinner at Veneto

January 13, 2018 By Heather King Leave a Comment

Monday, January 22 at 6:30

Veneto will host winemaker Sebastian Nasello of Podere Le Ripi winery in Montalcino, Italy on Monday, January 22 at 6:30 p.m. The dinner will feature a five-course meal with five wines of different vintages. Cost is $190 per person, all inclusive.

Nasello has been awarded the Giulio Gambelli award for best winemaker under 35. His wines show great respect for the soil, vine, varietal and vintage of the area in the heart of Tuscany where the winery produces some of the most exceptional Sangiovese grapes that make up the famed Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino wines in the world. Not only organic, the winery is also certified biodynamic.

Reservations for the dinner can be made by calling 801-359-0708 or emailing info@venetoslc.com.

While the dinner is sure to sell out, if you aren’t fortunate enough to attend, I had the good fortune of visiting the winery this fall and share with you some of my discoveries at Podere Le Ripi.

Podere Le Ripi is experimenting with wine aging by playing music to the wines in their oak barrels–some aging for five years.
The exterior of the Golden Cellar. The bricks are of natural clay, the mortar made of lime and each were laid by hand.
Inside the Golden Cellar, walk down the spiraled path as wines age in oak vats.
