Twenty-two Utah dining establishments have been awarded a 2023 Restaurant Award by Wine Spectator. The annual program recognizes restaurants for their wine programs in three categories: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence, and the Grand Award.
New to the Utah listings in 2023 are:
- Urban Hill: Award of Excellence
- Spencers For Steak & Chops: Award of Excellence
- The Capital Grille: Award of Excellence
- Cast & Cut: Award of Excellence
- Yuta: Award of Excellence
These restaurants join Veneto which has been recognized as a Best of Award of Excellence since 2019, BTG Wine Bar celebrating an Award of Excellence since 2016, Log Haven earning an Award of Excellence since 2003, Ruth’s Chris holding an Award of Excellence since 2016 and The Tree Room at Sundance Resort earning an Award of Excellence since 2021.
Park City tops the list of Utah destinations with 11 winners, many that have been on the list for years. These include:
- Courchevel Bistro: Best of Award of Excellence (2021)
- Glitretind Restaurant: Best of Award of Excellence (2007)
- Rime Seafood and Steak: Best of Award of Excellence (2020)
- Tupelo Park City: Best of Award of Excellence (2019)
- 350 Main Brasserie: Award of Excellence (1998)
- Cena Ristorante: Award of Excellence (2011)
- Edge Steakhouse: Award of Excellence (2014)
- Fireside Dining: Award of Excellence (2019)
- Riverhorse on Main: Award of Excellence (2019)
- The Mariposa: Award of Excellence (2010)
In Southern Utah, two restaurants hold the Award of Excellence designation. Springdale’s Spotted Dog has been recognized since 2010 while Painted Pony in St. George has been on the list since 2018.
The Restaurant Awards, established in 1981 by Wine Spectator magazine, remain the exclusive initiative dedicated to acknowledging exceptional restaurant wine service.
